Mobile Device Application Information
iABPro (iPhone)
ABPro_bb (BlackBerry)
R.ABPro (Android)

 

These native mobile applications are designed to allow Resource Administrators to manage their appointment bookings from their mobile device.

Functionality includes:

  • View appointments on a daily basis
  • View upcoming appointments, x days into the future
  • Search for appointments by customer name
  • View appointment details including UDFs, extras and seats
  • Change an appointment's status, date and/or time
  • Add a new appointment
  • Manage book-offs (add/edit/delete)

 

 

 




To use iABPro, ABPro_bb or R.ABPro you need 2 things.

1. The Native Application
- iABPro (for iPhone) - the iPhone native application. (Free from iTunes click here)
- ABPro_bb (for BlackBerry) - the BlackBerry native application (Free from here )
- R.ABPro (for Android) - the Android native application (Free from Android Market)


2. plg_iabpro - the Joomla plug-in that supplies web services that iABPro, ABPro_bb and R.ABPro talk to. (Free to registered users, download here)


Additional information: You can use Google Calendar with ABPro and all bookings will be added to your Google Calendar. Then you can use Google Sync to sync your Google Calendar with your mobile device.

Note: Changes made to a booking in Google Calendar will have no effect on bookings in ABPro.

Note 2: iABPro is not compatible with JoomFish - calls to Joomla's xmlrpc fail when JoomFish is installed.

Setup the iABPro plug-in



Install as any Joomla Plugin..




Now enable the plugin..





In order to use iABPro you need to be a resource administrator.
Here we set the user 'xmlrpc_test' as a resource administrator. This is done in the resource setup screen.






Setup native app on your Phone



Install iABPro from iTunes or ABPro_bb or R.ABPro from the above link.

Start iABPro, ABPro_bb or R.ABPro and select 'Settings' ..




Enter your site URL..




Next you need to set the path to the /xmlrpc/ directory in Joomla. This is a built in part of Joomla.
If your Joomla instance is the top level of your doamin you need only put /xmlrpc/.
If your Joomla instance is in a subdirectory you will need to enter the subdirectory first. The is example the Joomla instance is in directory /test_J15L.




Finally enter a Username and Password that iABPro can use to login and retreive appointment booking information. This user must be a resource administrator or no appointment data will be returned.

If the user account is a resource administrator for multiple resources, there will be a screen shown where the user can choose which of the resources to get appointment information for.




That is all that is required in the setup area.



 

Testing iABPro or ABPro-bb or R.ABPro


Select Most Recent Bookings




You will see the 5 most recently made bookings, for which you are resource administrator.
If you are resource administrator for more than one resource, you will see a screen that allows you to first choose which resource's bookings you want to look at.

You can change status or payment status at the bottom.



You can email the customer, phone them or text them also.
