The 3rd party calendars in ABPro are intended to show upcoming bookings to your staff. This is not really required, as you can use the Front Desk view for that, but some people are already using Google Calendar.


What about going the other way?
By that I mean, creating an event in Google Calendar with a 'Book Now!' link that will bring your user to ABPro to do the booking.

This document addresses how to do that using some of ABPro's features and an unsupported(?) Google Calendar feature.

First let me point out that Google Calendar does not 'support' HTML in the descripton field. If you use the Google user interface to add an event, you can add an anchor tag and it will work correctly on an embeded calendar. HOWEVER.. the next time you open the event in your Google calendar account, the tags will be removed. Aaarrggh!


But with some patience and knowledge you can create this..

The 'Book Now!' link opens ABPro with the resource selected and the grid positioned to the required date.

One limitaion of this is that the Google Calendar link opens a new window to ABPro. I have been unable to find a work around for this.





The ABPro features used are querystring parameters for 'Single Resource' and grid start date.
